About Me

Hi, my name is Ernest Gonzalez. I live in Albuquerque, NM. 

I got my first dog (Pit Bull) when I was in the 8th grade. From that time forward, I have owned, bred, boarded and trained dogs. 

My introduction to professional dog training began over 30 years ago when I started competing my German Shorthaired Pointers in field trials. I was a long-time member of a local bird dog club. It was there that I gained specific dog-handling skills, along with mentorship from experienced birddog handlers and professional trainers. Since then, I have studied, practiced, and developed dog handling and training techniques with my own and other's dogs. 

Over time, I increasingly gained referrals from family members, friends, and former clients for dog training and behavior issues.  

I not only correct poor (or unacceptable) dog behavior, but I also teach the fundamentals for gaining (or improving) control of the dog without the use of treats or words.

I love what I do. I genuinely enjoy working with dogs and teaching owners how to gain control of their dog, which strengthens the bond between them. My handling and training techniques are tailored specifically to the dog's breed, personality and behavior. 

These techniques are optimized when the owner(s) does his/her homework - consistently practicing the fundamentals I teach.
